About the Speaker:
Christophe P. Nicot is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Nicot received his PhD from the University of Bordeaux in France in 1995. His research focuses on the oncogenic Human T-cell Lymphotropic Virus type I (HTLV-I), the etiological agent of an aggressive and fatal leukemia known as Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATLL) disease. Nicot’s laboratory studies early and late molecular events associated with cellular transformation and leukemogenesis. They are especially interested in genome instability, telomerase reactivation, RNA export and signaling pathways involved in T-cell transformation and virus replication. They also study new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of ATLL. Prof Nicot is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Molecular Cancer and serves as an editorial member and reviewer of several internationally reputed journals. He is a member of many international affiliations with administrative responsibilities. Nicot has authored more than a hundred research articles.
