香港大學中醫藥學院副教授,醫學科學博士, 博士生導師, 長期從事中醫藥及生命科學的教育和研究,積極參與校內外課程設計,教材編寫,教學和研究的評估,科研基金評審等各方面工作。2020年2月6日起獲任命為學院實驗室安全統籌,督管學院實驗室日常運作,化學藥品,生物製劑, 動物實驗等方面的安全事務。長期參與國內外中醫藥相關的學術領域的活動並擔任多家國際中醫藥和相關專業雜誌的編委和評審。

科研方向與業績

榮建輝博士主要研究中藥抗炎,組織修復,神經保護及神經營養等活性成分及其分子機理,進一步開發治療神經性疾病及心血管疾病的新藥。研究策略包括三大步驟:第一步,應用現代基因組學,蛋白組學和細胞信號轉導的手段去發現中藥的靶標基因/蛋白。利用生物資訊學手段對指紋圖譜進行深度解析,確認具有重要生物學意義的靶標基因。第二步,選用生物活性為指導的分離分析策略對中藥提取物的活性成分進行分離鑒定。所選擇的靶標蛋白不僅有助開發新型治療手段,而且建立新型生物活性為基礎的品質控制指標。第三步,應用化學生物技術和分子對接技術開發有成藥潛力的生物活性分子。課題組成功地發現和鑒定了多個重要靶標分子(例如血紅素加氧酶HO-1, N花生四烯酸12-脫氫酶LTB4DH, 精氨酸水解酶arginase-2, 鈣網蛋白質calreticulin,肌肉丙酮酸磷酸激酶PKM2及伴侶蛋白質GRP78,我們的研究獲得了多項國自然·,香港政府研究基金和大學內部種子基金的支持,我們已經將相關研究結果發表了幾十篇學術論文和多項國際專利。
