HKU-Rostock U Exchange Programme was concluded on 8 September, 2023. In fact, this is the fourth inter-professional collaboration in Integrative Medicine (IM) between HKUSCM and Rostock University. Last three times could be dated back to 2018 in Germany and 2017 and 2019 in Hong Kong, which aimed at establishing long-term and sustainable inter-professional collaboration in education and researches on integrative oncology.

This year, we have arranged intensive lectures and field trips for students to further enhance academic and culture exchange, including 5 seminars on integrative Chinese-Western medicine and evidence-based medicine in cancer treatment, SAR-Cov-2 Vaccination, and palliative care; 5 workshops of Chinese Medicine & Western Medicine, academic research writing, acupuncture, Baduanjin Qigong practice, and Chinese herbal medicine, Inter-professional cancer case group discussion and presentation, and various cultural activities and tour.

Regarding the Joint-Seminars of Department of Oncology, Haematology & Palliative Care, Rostock University and HKUSCM held on Sep 4 and Sep 6, it attracted different participants including the academics, Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine professionals and the general public. The seminars served as a platform for scholars from Rostock University, Germany and HKU to share their insights, initiatives and researches on Integrative Oncology, IM, SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination, Palliative Care, Cancer Treatment, etc. Participants expressed that the presentations have given them more insights about Oncology and IM.
