Dr Rong Jianhui



Dr Jianhui Rong obtained BSc and MSc degree in Chemistry in China and obtained PhD degree in Biochemistry in 2000 from Uppsala University, Sweden, and conducted post-doc research in Immunology until 2005 at University of Alberta, Canada. After joining the University of Hong Kong and visiting research at Yale University, USA, Dr Rong served HKU as Research Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Dr Rong’s research focuses on the molecular pharmacology of Chinese medicines towards the development of novel therapies for cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological diseases. The experimental results have been published as more than 90 papers and five patents. Dr Rong is a motivational teacher, supervisor and speaker who values dedication, quality and excellence. Dr Rong actively participated in textbook editing, delivering lectures, reviewing research grants for NSFC, Macau SAR Government, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Metropolitan University and University of Macau, and serving several SCI journals as Associate Editor and Reviewer.
