Abstract

Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine is increasingly recognized by many international communities. Traditional Chinese medicine has the characteristics of multi-component and multi-target. The chemical composition of traditional Chinese medicine is rather complex, and most of the active components bind target proteins non-covalently to regulate protein activity, and then exert their medicinal effects in the therapy of different diseases. In recent years, many studies have shown that some active compounds of traditional Chinese medicine can also covalently bind to target proteins, and their efficacy cannot be defined by affinity, indicating many unknown pharmacological activities. This lecture will mainly discuss the formation of covalent conjugates between active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and protein targets. This talk will focus on the chemical and biological methods in the research on caffeic acid derivatives, tripterine and prostaglandin metabolites and protein targets in the past few years, and its significance in pharmacological research and new drug development.
