Dr Kin CHIU, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, is one of the principal investigators of the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. She established the "Retina-Brain Research" team with a long-term research goal to find methods for preventing and treating neurodegenerative retinal diseases. Her research focuses on the immune regulatory mechanisms of central neuronal degeneration, the development of novel translational medical approaches to prevent neuron death and promote neuron survival and regeneration from multiple perspectives.
