Professor Zhang Zhang-Jin



Biography


Professor Zhang Zhang-Jin is the Director of the School of Chinese Medicine and Associate Director (Clinical Affairs) of the HKUMed Centre of Integrative Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He serves as the Chair of Department (COD), Department of Chinese Medicine of HKU-Shenzhen Hospital and the Chief of Service (COS), Department of Chinese Medicine of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong. He is a pioneer who has been the first to conduct clinical trials for rigorous evaluation of efficacy of acupuncture and Chinese medicines for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and delivered more than 300 speeches at various conferences and seminars. He was the first recipient of the Outstanding Scholar Award of TCM Brain Sciences in China in 2018, and he received the 2024 International Council for Medical Acupuncture and Related Technologies (2024 ICMART) Science Award. He has been consistently ranked among the top 2% of scientists in Stanford University's global ranking system and is recognized as one of the 100 most influential scholars in Chinese psychiatry research.
