Professor Wang Zhengtao
Biography
Professor Zhengtao Wang, Lifetime Professor, at Shanghai University of TCM, has been devoted to the resources, natural products chemistry, quality evaluation and sustainable use of Chinese medicines since he obtained his Ph.D. degree at China Pharmaceutical University.
He and his colleagues have constructed a public technical platform for quality evaluation and criteria assessment of traditional medicines. In total more than 100 monographs of herbal medicines have been approved by Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and 9 species of ISO-TCM standards published.
He has been granted as Principal Investigator over 10 projects by MOST and NSFC, including National Distinguished Youth Fund (1998). He published 20 books and monographs and over 600 publications in international journals. He has been honored 5 national awards for National Science and Technology Advancement.
He had been invited as a member of Academic Committee Member in S&T Commission of MOE, member and consultant of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission, and Editor-in-Chief of English version of Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
