Dr Doan Van Minh



Biography


Dr Doan Van Minh is the Dean of the Faculty of Traditional Medicine and a Senior Lecturer at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam. He also serves as the Dean of the Traditional Medicine Clinic at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and Vice President of the Hue City Acupuncture Association. He obtained his MD from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (2004), his Master’s degree in Traditional Medicine from Hanoi Medical University (2009), and his PhD in Pharmacology from Guangxi Medical University, China (2015).

His research focuses on clinical traditional medicine, acupuncture, and anti-aging. In recent years, he has actively led initiatives promoting sustainable traditional medicine, particularly advocating for plant-based and non-animal alternatives to endangered wildlife products. As a pioneer of the Vietnam chapter of the international Coalition for Wildlife Protection in Traditional Medicine, he has organized regional workshops, conducted community surveys, and strengthened collaboration among practitioners to reduce wildlife product use. His work aims to integrate scientific evidence with traditional practice to build a sustainable, ethical, and globally connected traditional medicine system.
